So, which braid line is best? There are so many types and colours on the market, it makes choosing difficult.

If you do not fish too often then a cheaper braid with thicker dia/strength ratio is OK and you will probably be best to go for a stronger line as loosing braid is expensive. However if you fish often or are a competition fisher then you require a well constructed braid with a thinner dia/strength ratio as this is more effective at placing your tackle in the best position relative to the boat when fishing in a group or in strong tides and you want to have an advantage.

KG Strong Braid fits into the latter catagory and is one of the strongest in the world and is a leading European braid product, not too well known in the UK so you have a chance to gain an edge before this brand becomes better known.

KG Strong is a refined high performance fibre, braided then thermally treated in a complex process, an integral protective coating protects each fibre making the braid much more durable. The result is a well formed round braid that is less likely to pull into preceding layers wound onto the reel spool, and casts beautifully.

The 39KG test was used to catch the world record Halibut (202kg) in 2008.

All sizes supplied in 300m spools, except 67kg which is 250m spool.

Choosing a fishing line

If you are hunting around for the best fishing line for your deep sea fishing pursuits, you're sure to be impressed by our amazing selection of lines. Your marine hobbies will dictate the sort of ocean line you choose as deep sea line comes in a couple of weights and sizes. Using a monofilament rig line will offer more contact with the bait underwater while many use flexible monofilament reel line for its strength and abrasion resistance.

A length of translucent braid line means your line is unlikely to be seen by fish and plenty of marine fishermen and sea anglers opt to use braid line. Consider the types of fish you will be catching when out on your boat and select your reels, rigs, rods and lines on this basis. To make knots a quick and simple task, you should try our mono and wire leaders which can be purchased in an array of spool sizes.

Ocean seafish found in cold waters, like bass, halibut, cod, bream and herring can all be caught quickly with the correct line and deep sea fishing equipment. Whether you are part of a professional fishery or a maritime enthusiast, our affordable fishing tackle will help you to find the right line at the right price.

How to take advantage of fishing in Norway

Whether you take in a fjord fishing tour or you earn your money from fishing in the Norwegian Sea, fishing in Norway is a perfect activity for the keen angler. Fishing is not so much a past time but a way of life in Norway and affords fishermen an opportunity to make full use of their fishing equipment in order to cast the line far and wide for mackerel or cod. Sailing in coastal waters or the deep sea offers anglers the opportunity to fish for coalfish, mackerel and cod, with the aid of robust rods and fishing hooks which suit harsh conditions.

If you like to fish for trout or pike then choose to fish on the freshwater lakes inland supply a wide range of fish to reel in and allow you the opportunity to test soft bait such as shads or octopus and squid. Lastly it is impossible to ignore salmon; Norway's famous for its salmon slip stream which can provide a fisherman with a large haul of salmon with some individual salmon sometimes as heavy as 20 kilos.
